So real quickly, I said I'd give you guys my review of Jay-Z's "Blueprint 3". I was not a fan of it (not a surprise huh? Lol) and only a few songs stood out to me. They didn't stand out so much that I remembered the name's of them though. Jay's performance of "Empire State of Mind" featuring Alicia Keys was one that made me like the song a bit more. His whole approach or swag (God I hate that word) during his performance made every New Yorker proud to be one and every non-NYer want to be one. The only song that I listened to more than twice in a row was his version of "Money Goes, Honey Stay". I admired the fact that he kept the part of him fucking up in the beginning still on the track. However, I'm a bigger fan's of Fabolous' version. To me, his told more of a story according to the song title. Again I'll say, he should've stopped at "The Black Album"…. Any objections? 😉
Kanye's tirade at the VMA's had me dying of laughter. What he did was NOT funny, yes, it was extremely rude taking the spotlight away from that poor Taylor Swift who won her first ever VMA. What was funny was how hard people went over it. Every celeb who was or wasn't there talked shit about Kanye via Twitter. Pink went off on the internet and on national television which kinda pissed me off because Pink's a sellout to me. She came out as what? A pop/R&B artist and now she's a…… yeah, it's undefinable. Pink before you go talking shit about the next man, stick to one thing and maybe, just maybe, you'd get an award your damn self one day.
Back to the script…..
So anyway, everyone was an anti-Kanye fan. Even President Obama and it made me mad. A real fan will stick to their favorite artist no matter what. I tweeted the other day "KaeKaesMom <— Kanye West fan for life for as long as he makes good music, speaks his mind & doesn't give 2 shits". People will not always agree with your actions, the things you say or do, but should always respect you for being who you are. I'm glad he apologized for what he did to Taylor but he shouldn't have gotten kicked out nor should he have apologized to the world for that. What he did to that girl he did not do to the world. Everyone just wants a reason to hate and be mad and THAT's not cool.
Lady Gaga's perfomance was the first I've seen from her and as weird as it may have seemed, I LOVED it. It was different and she sounded great live. She really reminds me of a modern day Madonna and no, I don't believe they'll be another but she definitely deserves respect for her originality like Madonna. Would I download her album? Of course. I'd give it a listen and if it's better than Jay's, you already know you'll be seeing a post about it…..
